Member of MP1, a contemporary photography group active around Tokyo. In 2010, he won the Grand Prize of Recruit's "1_Wall" competition. Yokota's rough images might call to mind Japan's photographic history. Still, his process (which incorporates Xerox, Photoshop and re-photography) is thoroughly modern. His work is beginning to attract more attention abroad, although most of his publications to date are self-published zines.
